Do It Yourself (DIY) Residency Preparation for Pharmacy Students This course provides pharmacy students with an overview to understanding residency training, including program types, qualifications, and the pathway to securing a position. Topics covered: 1. Residency Overview: Explore the purpose and structure of pharmacy residencies, including differences between PGY1 and PGY2 programs and career pathways. 2. Types of Residency Programs: Overview of various residency options: hospital-based, ambulatory care, community pharmacy, managed care, and specialty areas like oncology and pediatrics. 3. Qualifications for Placement: Key academic and professional qualifications, including GPA, extracurriculars, work experience, and building a strong CV. 4. Pathway to Attainment: Guidance on the application process, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and preparing for the ASHP Midyear Meeting.
